Performs and documents basic and non-destructive inspections of liquid coatings applied by brush, roller, or spray to steel surfaces. Ensure the quality of products, continuous improvement of quality processes that are consistent with KSF's Quality Policy. Check quality specifications according to the shop drawings for accuracies and ensure good communication with all team members. Responsible for creating and approving all Quality Control reports required per KSF's Quality Policy and/or customer specifications.
Essential Functions:
- Ensures quality system requirements are maintained in accordance with the applicable Standards.
- Oversees quality in coatings shop per code requirements of AWS/NACE, including but not limited to the proper mixing and application of coatings. Provides regular feedback to Coatings Manager regarding quality concerns.
- Conduct final inspections of products daily and prior to releasing for shipment. Ensures all appropriate quality paperwork is included with each shipment.
- Ensures the highest level of quality on every coatings job.
- Monitors coatings shop equipment certifications, calibrations, and maintenance.
- Facilitates external customer inspections as company representative.
- Supports Management in the execution of internal and external audits.
- Promotes and maintains safe working environment for all employees.
- Maintains adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards as outlined in roles and responsibilities of ISO 9001:2015 and AISC / AWS Standards.
- Maintains a collaborative working relationship with Coatings Manager and coatings team.
- Pitches in to support coatings team tasks such as blasting, painting, and powder coatings as needed to ensure jobs are shipped in a timely manner.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current (unexpired) NACE Level I Certification
- Minimum 2 years experience in Industrial Coatings industry
- Working knowledge of various coating systems required
- Working knowledge of codes and standards including NACE, AWS, AISC, and ISO 9001:2015
- Experience with coating material identification
- Knowledge of blasting and coatings applications
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite applications
Salary Description
$25 - $28 per hour
