We are offering:

  • Paid employment during NA-R & NA-C training
  • We pay first year license & testing fees ($200 Value)
  • Benefit eligible after 90 days probation period provided you work full time or part time hours.

 

Primary Scheduled Hours:  56 hours per pay period - evening shift.

 

Job Summary

Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of an RN/LPN.  Assists patients in performing tasks involving direct or indirect patient care, treatment and maintenance of the nursing unit.

  • Newport Hospital and Health Services is located in Newport, WA on the Washington-Idaho border.  We are an independent rural healthcare provider.
  • Newport Hospital and Health Services consists of:
    • 24 bed Rural Community Hospital - Trauma Level IV
    • 15 providers Rural Health Clinic
    • 72 – bed, high –level care,  Advanced Assisted Living Facility
    • 42 – apartment;  low-moderate care level Assisted Living Facility
    • In 2021 we celebrated our 100th year in operation servicing the local members of Newport, WA and the surrounding communities. 

 

Education Background and Experience

Minimum Education:

High School graduate or equivalent

Professional Requirements

  • Maintain regulatory requirements.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled; complete work within designated timelines.
  • Demonstrates the ability to adhere to the mission, ethics and goals of the District.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, guests and staff in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner.

Essential Job Functions

  • Transporting residents.
  • Removing linens and trash to proper receptacles
  • Assist with screening of visitors
  • Answering calls
  • Assists in the preparation for admission of residents.
  • Ensures property and clothing are properly labelled on admission and throughout the stay.
  • Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
  • Checks unit for adequate linen.  Folds neatly and arranges linen in linen closet.  Cleans linen cart.  Provides clean linen and clothing.  Makes beds.
  • Treats residents and their families with respect and dignity.
  • Distributes drinking water and other nourishments to residents.
  • Assists and encourages participation in daily restorative nursing programs.
  • Monitors and maintains cleanliness or wheelchairs and assistive devices.
  • Assists residents with handling and care of clothing and other personal property (including dentures, glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids and prosthetic devices).

Compensation/How We Care For You:

Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range ($18.50 – $21.79/hour) dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation increment increases annually.
