Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain database systems and schemas
- Perform database administration tasks including backup and recovery, performance tuning, and capacity planning
- Develop and optimize SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure efficient database design and implementation
- Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data
- Create and maintain documentation of database processes and procedures
Experience:
- Strong experience in managing databases, including installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Proficient in SQL programming languages such as PL/SQL or T-SQL
- Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools like SSIS
- Knowledge of performance tuning techniques to optimize database performance
- Familiarity with high availability solutions such as clustering or replication
- Experience working with Linux or Unix operating systems
- Knowledge of server hardware and storage systems
- Ability to anticipate future database needs and proactively plan for them
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server)
- Proficiency in SQL programming languages (e.g., PL/SQL, T-SQL)
- Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools (e.g., SSIS)
- Familiarity with Linux or Unix operating systems
- Understanding of server hardware and storage systems
