The West Seneca Central School District is seeking a full-time Music teacher to provide Instrumental (Strings) and Vocal/General Music instruction for students at the Elementary grade levels. This position is a traveling position and the assignment is subject to change in the future.
This is a probationary appointment with salary and benefits paid according to the West Seneca Teachers' Association collective bargaining agreement.
Required Certification: Music (Pre K-12)
Experience and Skills Preferred:
- Knowledge of teaching music in a differentiated format
- Ability to demonstrate and perform on string primary and secondary instrument(s)
- Experience with a variety of classroom management skills and behavior intervention programs
- Knowledge of program modifications, testing accommodations and supplementary aides
- Strong computer and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate and work with other members of the department
- Ability to demonstrate and perform with proper vocal technique
- Choral conducting experience with piano background preferred
- Instrumental (String) conducting experience preferred
The candidate must be able to demonstrate planning and preparation, instructional skills; effective classroom management and be motivated to engage in continuous professional development.
