We are a community based music school that is a sister school of The Tuned In Academy (which serves over 500 students). We are building a team of great people serious about music and music education, including the fundamentals!
Are you a great musician, looking for a great opportunity? We're looking for musicians that understand that one of the most important things for them as a musician, for the world, and the future of music, is that you are a part of the mission to pass on their knowledge and to inspire others to do great things with music. an effective communicator, and willing to be a part of a team.
We are looking for musicians that understand that teaching music is (and should be) highly relational, and want to develop those relations. We are looking for a musician that want to grow as a musician; and teaching is a guaranteed path to growth if you care about your students and their needs and their growth! Not to mention, what really could be a better job than being a part of a team of great people doing important work in the community that pays well (including five weeks of paid time off a year), and you get to choose their own schedule?!!
If you don't have teaching experience but you care about music and people, and you know your stuff, we can train you in the art of teaching. You must be a hard worker, desire to teach and grow in your craft as well as in helping others grow, be on the ball and responsive, and understanding of our community and how we operate.
To be qualified you must know all fundamentals (scales, chords, theory for voice teachers, rudiments for drum teachers), and read at an extremely high level and be able to sight read well, and be committed to teaching students the same. You need to believe in the importance of these things, and be able to demonstrate proficiency (and hopefully mastery) of them! If you don’t know your stuff, please don’t waste our time. We don't mess around when it comes to music!
For the right person, we have a potential opportunity for you to assume a roster of students at about $1000-2000 a month teaching about 12-15 hours a week, or more if you like. This person would need to be high energy and very capable in teaching ideally piano, voice, guitar, ukulele. But we will take just voice, if you are also able to play guitar or piano proficiently enough to accompany your students with basic accompaniment.
