The Museum of the American Arts and Crafts Movement seeks a talented individual to fill the position of Barista/Front Counter associate at the Arts Café located in the Museum.
This new 137,000 sq. ft museum dedicated to the American Arts and Crafts Movement displays the unapparelled collection of the Two Red Roses Foundation. The collection consists of decorative and fine arts from the early twentieth century including furniture, pottery, metalwork, lighting, jewelry, photography, watercolors, oil paintings, and woodblock prints.
Position Summary: The Barista/Front Counter associate is responsible for taking customer orders, preparing drink and pastry orders as well as assisting in the delivery of food from the kitchen to café customers.
Essential Functions:
- Greets customers and takes orders; processes cash and credit card transactions
- Prepares and serves hot and cold beverages according to brand specifications and the customers' requests
- Serves prepared food items
- Maintains knowledge of menu items and recipes to effectively service the customer
- Sets up and breaks down workstations, including cleaning and sanitizing
- Maintains appearance of location ensuring product is stocked to appropriate levels and all areas are properly cleaned and sanitized
- Maintains excellent customer service, anticipating guests' needs
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures, including proper food safety and sanitation
- Maintains a positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
- Ensures security of company assets
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by the manager
