The role you'll contribute:
Oversee the day to day operations of the MRI section, ensuring that adequate staffing is maintained along with appropriate patient throughput. Provide leadership to MRI staff by utilizing problem solving abilities and maintaining a positive attitude. Under the direction of the Radiologist, performs MRI Radiologic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical procedures that will require independent judgment and initiative to perform MRI procedures and appropriate protocols for diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.

- Performs magnetic resonance scans to obtain high quality images. Follows standards of safe MRI practice. Practices all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to "as low as reasonably achievable" (ALARA).
- Produces quality images in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
- Prepares patient for exam. Provides information and instruction to patient and/or family regarding the procedure and responds to their physical and emotional needs.
- Maintains all the essential job functions of the MRI Technologist.
- Provides supervision and direction to staff.
- Treats all staff fair and equitably, with regards to performance evaluation and scheduling.
- Utilizes critical thinking to resolve problems, documents corrective actions.
- Seeks to generate alternative solutions to problems/barriers.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years of experience performing MRI Tech duties/responsibilities
- For entities with shortages of qualified personnel, must be obtained within one year of hire; otherwise, is required: Registered Technologist, Radiology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging - R.T. (R)(MR)(ARRT)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association
Preferred:
- Associate degree (strongly preferred)
- Bachelor's degree
