Job Description
AECOM Structural Engineering Team is looking for a seasoned Movable Bridge Mechanical Discipline Leader to support a growing backlog of bridges nationally. The ideal candidate would join a tight knit team of engineers to lead a group of junior and mid-level engineers and would have substantial opportunity to grow into Project Management and Business development functions.
Job Duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Serve as a senior technical resource with Movable Bridge experience that may serve as calculation reviewer, technical advisor or project manager for team
  • Provides specialized technical input to all phases of design projects for Movable Bridges as well as other heavy movable structures.
  • Performs hands on inspection of existing structures and prepares inspection and recommendation reports.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepares technical specification sections.
  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • BA/BS + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Current P.E. license with ability to obtain reciprocity in other states
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree a plus 12 years of experience in similar role.
  • Project experience on State DOT projects and light rail/freight rail structures
  • Participation in industry professional organizations (HMS, AREMA)
  • Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable Codes.
  • Project management skills, including proposal preparation
  • Hydraulic system design experience

  • Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $140,000 - $195,000. Please note that this role can be based anywhere in the United States/Canada and compensation data will vary in each location, including higher or lower than the stated range.
