- Patient population Adolescent, Child, Adult, Geriatric. Very sick children are sent to other hospitals better staffed/equipped for children.
- Caseload: Cardiac surgeries 1/day, but not every day; 5-7 general cases/day. Must help cover general if no cardiac cases.
- The group practice is predominantly solo cases, but they do have CRNA students rotating through, so the Cardiac Anesthesiologist needs to be okay with students in the operating room with him/her. If there is any supervision/direction, the partners will oversee that. If there are no cardiac surgeries scheduled, the locum would be expected to take on general cases until the next scheduled heart case.
- EMR: Cerner - moving to EPIC, some paper.
- Credentialing: 8 - 12 weeks
- Licensing Active Iowa license or IMLC CSR and DEA
- Required Certifications/Cred Items: BC/BECardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship trained preferred TEE Certified (must be able to read, interpret, and bill TEE procedures - NOT just the placement of the probe) ACLS/BLS/PALS
