Onsite - This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled CAD Engineer to join our elite team. GM Motorsports supports NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA and is currently pursuing an entry into Formula 1.  As a CAD Engineer you will partner with the racing programs during all stages of life from part design to material selection. With your level of work experience, you can perform finite element analysis (FEA) on parts designed for validation and have the capability to convert surfaces into parts.

What You’ll Do:

  • Use your CAD, Teamcenter, and FEA industry experience to create solids, surfaces, complex assemblies, and drawings

  • Apply your knowledge of multiple alloys

  • Work proficiently with solids, surfaces, complex assemblies, and drawings

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ years of automotive, motorsports or aerospace industry CAD design experience

  • Proficiency in CAD software (Teamcenter or NX) FEA tools (HyperMesh, Nastran, Abaqus)

  • Strong understanding of alloy materials properties and manufacturing process

  • Experience designing for additive manufacturing

  • Solid and surface modeling

  • Continuously seek opportunities for innovation and improvements in design and manufacturing processes

  • Ability to handle multiple programs efficiently

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills

  • Passion for motorsports and a desire to contribute to the team’s success

  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics

  • Knowledge of aerodynamics

  • This job is not eligible for relocation benefits; Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate
