Job description

The Mortgage Foreclosure Prevention Program Manager provides day-to-day guidance, and oversight of Foreclosure Prevention counseling services to TCHFH homeowners and to homeowners residing in the City of Minneapolis. The Foreclosure Prevention Program Manager serves as an internal subject matter expert providing homeowners with the most effective resources and tools that prevent foreclosure and help TCHFH achieve its strategic goal to stabilize and preserve affordable homeownership in the community.

Required qualifications to be a Mortgage Foreclosure Prevention Program Manager:

Education, credentials, and experience:

  • BA degree in a relevant field
  • If no degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired may be considered.
  • Minimum 6 months serving clients of diverse races, cultures, and economic backgrounds in a human service setting.
  • MN Mortgage Foreclosure Prevention Association (MMFPA) Certification or ability to acquire within 12 months of employment. Current certification requirements to provide foreclosure counseling services.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Foreclosure Prevention Counseling: Conducts financial assessment and develops a plan for clients who are at risk of losing their homes due to mortgage default.
  • Client Focus: Builds strong client relationships, concentrating on how every interaction helps the client.
  • Problem-Solving: Identifies problems and uses logic, judgment, and data to evaluate alternatives and recommend solutions to achieve the desired organizational goal or outcome.
  • Resourcefulness: Copes with challenges by securing and leveraging resources effectively and independently.
  • Emotional Intelligence: Manages and expresses emotions appropriately and displays thoughtfulness in reacting to the emotions of others.
