Job Description:
This position entails processing of Invoices, Accounts Payable, accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing of the books. Generate and present required internal financial statement to include, but not be limited to, the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow reports and other Company specific reporting. The accountant will be the central point of contact for all accounting related needs between management, various departments and customers.
Position Responsibilities
- Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
- Preparation of Month/Year End Journal Entries and Supporting Workpapers
- Reconcile daily loan postings
- Reconcile daily escrow trust accounts and daily transfers
- Liaise with other departments as needed to obtain sufficient and appropriate support for work done and/or evidence to support the financial position being reported
- Assist in Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Fannie Mae, NMLS, State reporting
- Assist the Accounting Manager with documenting internal controls over financial reporting
- Assist the Accounting department as needed to ensure a timely and accurate month-end close
- Perform ad-hoc reports, projects and/or research as directed by the Accounting Manager
- Perform other administrative functions, as needed, including, but not limited to reporting, presentation updates, and back-up to other team-members within the department
Qualifications (include, but are not limited to):
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience, in Corporate Accounting with Mortgage or Real Estate experience preferred
- Demonstrated background in financial reporting and intimate understanding of GAAP, including a proven track record of managing day to day accounting operations
- Minimum of Intermediate Excel skills
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to work efficiently and be assertive in a collaborative environment
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and deadlines
- Driven, proactive, innovative and flexible personality with a strong sense of initiative and ownership
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Mortgage Banking Accounting
- Loan Vision Accounting Software Experience
- Public Accounting Experience
