The Patient Monitoring business includes technologies that provide insights and intelligence to help clinicians reduce dangerous and costly patient complications in acute care. 

A Day in the Life

As a Monitoring Clinical Account Specialist, with our Patient Monitoring (PM) Operating Unit (OU), you you will enhance the selling process by servicing as the clinical expert on Patient Monitoring solutions including SPO2, capnography, and Vital Sync. You will be responsible for both sales and clinical support for Monitoring at large hospitals and will have greater accountability at the hospital level. You will drive utilization and identify conversion opportunities. You will have additional responsibilities for converting share within your territory. This position is actively involved pre- and post-sale to identify and foster elements, processes, and champions that result in successful product adoption.  

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Promotes and sells Medtronic's products and services within an assigned geographic area and /or specific customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Responsible for developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with stakeholders including distributors and healthcare professionals.
  • Responsible for pursuing leads, assessing needs and providing product services to maximize the benefits derived from Medtronic's products and/or services.
  • Promotes and establishes education of the company's products and/or services.
  • Conducts market research including customers and competitors activities.
  • Implements market development plans/strategies and changes as needed.
  • Communicates customer feedback on new products and/or modifications to existing products or applications to internal stakeholders including R&D, Operations and Marketing.

This position is an exciting and new opportunity to work with Medtronic's Patient Monitoring, Respiratory Interventions and/or MCMS businesses.  Currently part of Medtronic, Medtronic has announced its intention to transition these businesses either into a new stand-alone company (currently referred to as NewCo) or merge them  into the business of another company. While you will start your employment with Medtronic, upon establishment of NewCo or upon the transition of the business unit to another company, which may occur in approximately 12-15 months, your employment may transfer to one of these entities.

The business will have the same singular focus, financial commitment, deep domain expertise, and global footprint needed to accelerate the development and commercialization of affordable and scalable healthcare technologies.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed clinician (RN or RRT)  in an acute care setting and/or healthcare industry experience in either field sales or clinical education.

Nice to Have

  • Field sales experience in an acute care setting
  • Experience in a team selling environment
  • Medical capital and consumable sales experience
  • Experience in patient monitoring in a variety of care settings
  • Clinical education experience of hospital staff
  • Strong ability to both create and deliver presentations, education plans, and evaluation plans that reflect the needs of the customer
  • Proficient in Salesforce.com, Sales Analytics and MS Office (including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

SIP Eligible: In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals. Learn more about total rewards here.
