Form of workMaxim Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Monitoring Technician responsible for detecting and differentiating abnormal cardiac rhythms as evidence by a passing score on a cardiac monitoring EKG test.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing patient records to determine normal heart rhythms
- Monitoring current patterns and noting any deviations
- Observing monitor screen and listening for alarms that would identify abnormal heart rhythm variations
- Notifying nurses and/or doctors when needed
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment, ensuring batteries are charged and installed properly
- Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a hospital approved arrhythmia interpretation class
- Minimum of one (1) year work experience in hospital program preferred
- Current BLS certification as applicable per client requirement
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required
- Computer proficiency required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
