About the Role
As a Molding Process Engineer Intern at Magna AIM Systems, you will play a pivotal role in our engineering team, concentrating on corrective actions, process enhancements, and providing support across various facets of molding operations. This internship offers a hands-on experience, allowing you to actively engage in diverse projects and contribute to the overarching success of our Molding Processes.
Your Responsibilities
Process Optimization:
• Analyze and optimize Molding Processes to improve efficiency and reduce cycle times.
• Implement best practices to enhance product quality and consistency.
Tooling and Equipment Management:
• Collaborate with the tooling team to ensure proper maintenance and calibration of molds and molding equipment.
• Identify opportunities for tooling and equipment upgrades to improve overall performance.
Quality Assurance:
• Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed specified standards.
• Conduct regular quality audits and address any issues through corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement:
• Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
• Implement innovative solutions to enhance the overall efficiency of the Molding Processes.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to Molding Processes.
• Generate reports on key performance indicators and process improvements.
Troubleshooting:
• Investigate and resolve issues related to Molding Processes, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
Collaboration:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and production, to ensure seamless integration of Molding Processes.
Who we are looking for
• Strong interest in Molding Processes, with a focus on injection molding.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
Your preferred qualifications
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Professional Communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong technical and analytical competence in select areas of technology
• Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment and assembly plant, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.
