JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective
Machinist / Model Maker will plan and lay out difficult fabrication operations for the construction of samples, production models and templates, working from drawings, sketches, verbal description and specifications. Develop details and determine necessary operations following established procedures to produce models and special products to specifications on a production basis.
Essential Functions
1. Construct difficult samples, production models, templates and assemblies.
2. Set up and operate machine shop equipment such as:
a. Drill press
b. Mill press
c. Lathe
d. Welding equipment
e. Brazing equipment
f. Construct jigs and fixtures.
3. Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly.
4. Prepares and maintains various production records; detects faulty material, defective parts and reports improper operation conditions to supervisor or as designated by management.
5. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
6. Able to perform the lower classifications within the department.
Competencies
1. Ability to measure lengths and diameters using ruler, tapes and micrometers.
2. Ability to TIG weld and braze small components.
3. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
4. Ability to follow oral and written directions.
Required Education and Experience - High School Graduate or GED - 2 to 5 years of experience in a related manufacturing position preferred.

Pay: $21.27 - $25.62 per hour
