JOB HIGHLIGHT:
The primary duty of our Mobile HVAC Technician is repair, replace, and maintain the HVAC systems at various properties, owned by our client in Miami, FL.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Journeyman level skills in troubleshooting and servicing HVAC Equipment.
- Service equipment to include recovering refrigerant, repairing leaks, replacing components, etc.
- Some smaller replacements may occur in-house.
- Proper usage of HVAC tools to include recovery machine, vacuum pump, manifold gauges, oxy-acetylene torches, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Available on call 24/7 for emergencies
- Work overtime as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings.
- Knowledge of principles and theories of air conditioning and refrigeration.
- Working knowledge of Internet, Email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull a variety of tools, equipment and materials.
- Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to stoop, climb, balance, kneel and crouch to gain access to pipes, wiring and equipment.
- Must be able to handle a variety of hand and power tools.
- Near visual acuity needed to read equipment diagrams and inspect parts.
- Depth perception, field of vision and color vision needed in fitting and installing parts.
- Exposed to wet and very hot conditions.
- Exposed to noise and vibration from operating machinery.
- Must be able to lift any trade tools, material, and equipment.
- Must be able to reach overhead.
- May be required to work in confined areas to access equipment.
- Keeps management and customers informed of job progress and issues.
- Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
- Communicates with the customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
- Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training. High degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-year degree in air conditioning or similar field or at least 3-5 years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
- Knowledge of various types of HVAC equipment to include split systems, air handlers, chillers, VRF, and pumps.
- EPA 608 Universal (CFC Certification) Required
- Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent AB Facility Services to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
- Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people. Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment on a job site.
- Computer experience required and the ability to program HVAC related software.
