SAIC has a job opportunity for a Mission Engineer to support development of mission analysis for the ABMS Family of Systems in support of Air Force and Combatant Command Business Group. This position is located in San Diego, CA or Arlington, VA. Hybrid/Remote Work Negotiable. TS/SCI; TS Required to Start.
Job Summary: The Mission Engineer will take a multi-discipline approach to systems engineering, provide requirements analysis based on mission vignettes, threat analysis, modeling & simulation, and war games. The Mission Engineer must be able to define mission parameters and derive mission requirements from various sources of data. The Mission Engineer will provide mission perspective throughout the design life cycle.
- Define Mission Parameters to support Modeling and Simulation exercises.
- Identify mission requirements and translate into design requirements
- Identify technology gaps and provide recommendations
- Perform Analysis of Alternatives, Trade Studies, Engineering Assessment, and provide Courses of Actions as recommendations to leadership
- Assist in strategic technical planning
- Support development of solutions designs based on analysis of requirements
- Assists the Government in the capture and translation of mission and customer requirements/needs into systems/capability requirements and solutions.
- Supports the analyses and allocation of requirements to systems architecture components and executing programs.
- Shall consider both technical and operational points of view.
- Shall evaluate the applicability of the designs on other platforms in the Department of Defense Enterprise, and conversely identify when existing designs from other programs should be leveraged for and assess their ability to fulfill original requirements
- Support for developing and/or executing requirements verification efforts from a mission success perspective.
Qualifications
- B.S. in STEM or related technical degree with at least 10 years’ experience with DoD Weapon Systems engineering/architecting
- US Citizenship and an active TS SCI clearance
- Expert knowledge in DAF missions and interservice interoperability
- Experience identifying user & enterprise needs/requirements and gap identification, analysis and assessment
- Experience in supporting Requirements Engineering, CONOPS development, and system integration to enable long range kill chain
- Experience in war games, modeling & simulation, and Mission Engineering
- Experience in strategic planning
- Experience in advance weapon system development, integration, test, and verification
Target salary range: $175,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
