Salary Position
Reports to: Mine Manager
The essential functions of this position were determined to be but not limited to:
- Must have Mine Foreman papers from the state of Kentucky.
- Must have working knowledge of a coal production section and its equipment.
- Must know and comply with all state and federal laws and regulations and comply with all company policies and plans.
- Must be able to read and follow projection maps and be able to accurately mark maps to show mining progress and condition changes.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with a group of miners, other mine departments (maintenance, safety, etc), mine management, and federal and state agencies.
- Must be able to lead guide and direct the workforce during day to day activities.
- Other duties may be required as assigned by Mine Manager.
Work Objectives:
To safely and productively lead and place miners in the production and maintenance of the coal mine.
Work Schedule:
Miners will work five (5) days, Monday through Friday. Periodically, miners will be required to work a sixth (6th) day on Saturday. Shifts are rotating from 2 weeks of days to 2 weeks of seconds. Overtime may be required by the mine manager.
Position Summary:
Employee must be able to lift 50 to 100 pounds regularly. Use various hand tools including hammers, wrenches, knives etc. as required. Work closely with others in a team effort.
