Middle School/HighSchool ESY Special Education Teacher (2)
Responsibilities include:
? Instruct small groups of students using specialized instruction and methodologies in
functional mathematics, reading, writing, and life skills
? Plan lessons using Common Core Curriculum Essential Elements and Framework as appropriate and
student's specific IEP goals and objectives
? Collect data on student performance and progress, and complete progress reports

Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications
1. Must have the appropriate RIDE certification as a special educator at the designated grade
level
2. Experience in advancing the use of data to improve student learning
3. Demonstrated successful Special Education teaching experience
4. Knowledge of district policies and procedures as they apply; strategies for involving and
working with parents of identified students; effective instructional programs and innovative
strategies and techniques for direct instruction
5. Demonstrated ability to use technology to support teaching and learning.
6. Ability to work with colleagues, parents, students, and administrators.
7. Demonstrate exemplary oral and written communication and listening skills.
8. Positive attitude.
9. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Committee may find appropriate.
10. At least three years of relevant experience preferred
11. Citizenship, residency, or work VISA in United States required
