Middle School Mathematics Teacher for 2023-2024 School Year
Position Overview:
Amherst Middle School is seeking a Mathematics teacher to join their learning community in the 2023-2024 school year. This position is responsible for helping to design and implement rich curriculum, dynamic student-centered instruction, and performance-based assessment in the Middle School. A qualified applicant will be knowledgeable in the content area standards, work study practices, and demonstrate a commitment to bringing learning to life for students of all ability levels. Strong collaboration and communication skills as well as a commitment to their own growth are required in this position.
Requirements:
Successful experience and/or training in the field or level within the last five years.
NH Teacher Certification in the following endorsements will be considered:
Elementary Education 1810, 1811 or equivalent - Mathematics, Middle Level 1102 (preferred, and required for 8th grade)
Bachelor's Degree or higher
Demonstrated commitment to, "Engage, Support and Challenge All Learners."
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues to support a positive school climate
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with standards-based grading and competency education
Proficiency in creating and implementing performance-based assessment in the classroom
Demonstrated strategies for differentiation at all levels to support a Mutli-Tiered System of Supports model and RTI
Demonstrated instructional skills at the Middle School level.
Ability to incorporate brain-based and social emotional learning strategies into instruction
Enthusiastic, articulate, creative, people-oriented, and caring.
Expert in working with Middle School-aged students and their families.
Excellent communication skills, well-developed collaborative skills and organizational skills.
