Mid-Level Project Coordinator / Space Programs

Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Project Coordinator at the White Sands Complex (WSC) near Las Cruces, New Mexico to assist with management of new and existing NASA Space Network projects. The selected candidate will support the day-to-day tactical duties for assigned programs. This role also coordinates the programmatic and financial aspects of ongoing projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
Peraton is the prime contractor for NASA at the White Sands Complex (WSC) near Las Cruces, New Mexico. Operating here are two functionally identical satellite ground terminals: The White Sands Ground Terminal, and the Second TDRSS Ground Terminal. These ground terminals ensure uninterrupted communications between various ground stations, NASA's orbiting fleet of Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS), customer spacecraft (satellites), and the computer systems that support such spacecraft. WSC serves as an interface for distributing satellite data to control centers and scientists who then use the daily influx of data to expand our ever-growing knowledge of the Earth and the universe.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supports project teams with programmatic, financial and coordination tasks for WSC operations, maintenance management and program management office
• Supports project schedules, subcontracts, budgets and status reports.
• Supports mechanisms for monitoring project progress and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and customers.
• Supports coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary documentation reviews and approvals are received.
• Assist with development of project presentations.
• Performs vendor management and coordination functions as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• BS/BA degree in in Business Management, Administration, Engineering, or other related technical field. and 5 years of relative experience in project support.
• 3+ years of experience working on teams.
• 3+ years of experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Occasional business travel may be required.
• Security clearance - this position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance and to maintain the clearance thereafter. In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Strong people management, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Project management or finance experience in a government contracting environment preferred.
• Experience with MS Project or similar resource scheduling software.
• Finance or technical background.
• Experience with IT management and/or Network Engineering

Target Salary Range
$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
