LDIS, LLC, A Tetra Tech Company is a full-service Project Management, Engineering, and Design firm specializing in project execution across multiple business sectors is looking for a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to join our growing Electrical / Instrumentation and Controls Engineering & Design team. Our staff provides Fit for Purpose project solutions to our clients with safety, accuracy, and efficiency as a focal point during the entire project duration. LDIS provides process, mechanical, piping design, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation and environmental services. Our groups collaborate on small, mid-sized and large projects involving construction, revamps, process enhancements and equipment modifications.
Your Role:

• Focus on safe work practices
• Performs basic power engineering tasks and calculations for processing and heavy industrial Oil and Gas, Renewables, Petrochemical and Industrial Wastewater Treatment facilities under the direction and supervision of a Senior Electrical Engineer
• Performs specification development and research for distribution switchgear, MCCs, panels, motor starters/VFDs, etc.
• One-line diagram and panel schedule development
• Conduit layout and fill calculations
• Cable/Wire sizing and voltage drop calcs
• Provide engineering support/develop design plans including (but not limited to) grounding, hazardous area classification, lighting, power plans and heat trace.
• Vendor submittal review
• Develop Interconnection and wiring diagrams based on vendor drawings.
• Reviews work for discrepancies or inconsistencies
• Tracks details of work to discuss and resolve
• Develops and improves technical knowledge and skills
• Maintains professionalism in relationships with other office and team members
• Plans what needs to be communicated and how to present the information effectively
• Seeks out company and client technical standards and implements them on projects
• Constructively builds and maintains relationships with others on the project design team
• Travel required when requested
• Makes site visits to observe during construction and operation
• Lighting designs, luminaire layout, and circuit switching

Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of the National Electrical Code
• Ability to read and understand One-Line Diagrams and Control Schematics
• Working knowledge of symmetrical components, fault current calculations, and machine theory
• Knowledge of hazardous/classified area design, fire detection, and protection system design
• Experience in the layout of electrical distribution systems, cable tray, conduit, grounding, and underground duct bank design.
• Proficient in SKM Power Tools and/or ETAP.
• Ability to work with supervisor to effectively complete routine tasks
• Capable of breaking a task into one or more component parts and sequencing those parts effectively
• General awareness of need for practicality and constructability of design solutions
• Familiarity with the importance of maintaining scope, schedule and budget assigned for engineering tasks
• Ability to work with more experienced Electrical Engineers to apply standard textbook electrical design and analysis approach
• Follows selected design approach through completion of analysis and detailing
• Logically organizes work
• Ability to listen to others and ask clarifying questions at appropriate time
• Willingness to accept suggestions and corrections on organization and planning issues
• Seeks help to understand and productively work through conflict to keep tasks moving ahead
• General awareness of the "business" of Electrical Engineering as well as the technical design issues
• Strong verbal and written communications skills that are well organized and persuasive
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 7-10 years' experience
• Course work in power engineering
• Engineer-in-Training certification

Preferred Experience:

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering - Power Specialty
• Experience with Autocad
• Field investigative, commissioning and start-up experience
• Professional Engineering License

Per our company policy, this offer is also contingent on passing a background and drug and alcohol test before starting at our company.
Salary range is $93,600.00 - $135,200 annually. Depending on qualifications, experience & location.
