We are hiring a Microsoft Power Platform Developer to support a federal government customer located in Washington, DC. This is a remote position; however, EST time zone preferred.
Here's what you'll do:
- Solution Design: Participate in business requirements sessions with stakeholders and design solutions using the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse) and SharePoint Online to meet those requirements.
- Application Development: Create custom business applications using the Power Platform, which might involve building both canvas apps and model-driven apps in Power Apps.
- Workflow Automation: Design and implement workflows and automation using Power Automate, helping to streamline business processes.
- Data Modeling and Integration: Create data models and connect to various data sources (e.g., Dataverse, relational databases, SharePoint Lists, or MS Excel) ensuring data can be used effectively in Power Platform solutions and ad hoc reporting using Power BI.
- Dashboard and Report Development: Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to provide valuable data insights.
- Accessibility and Performance Optimization: Ensure Power Platform solutions meet 508 accessibility requirements and optimize the performance of Power Platform solutions to ensure efficiency and responsiveness.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to Power Platform solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough technical documentation for solutions, processes, and best practices.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members, such as business analysts, data analysts, and IT staff, to deliver comprehensive solutions; this includes sharing technical knowledge and best practices with other team members.
- B.A. or B.S. degree in a related field
- Minimum 5-8+ years of relevant experience (Desired: 2+ years of Power Platform experience)
- Microsoft Power Apps Development: Experience in creating, customizing, and deploying Power Apps solutions for business needs.
- Power BI Report Development: Experience in designing and building interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI.
- Relational Database Knowledge: Experience with relational databases for data retrieval and manipulation, and specific experience working with Dataverse.
- Data Modeling: Understanding of data modeling concepts to design efficient and scalable data structures for Power Platform solutions.
- Data Integration: Experience integrating data from various sources, such as Dataverse, relational databases, APIs, and cloud services, into Power Platform solutions.
- Power Query: Ability to transform and cleanse data using Power Query.
- ETL (Extract, Transform, Load): Experience with ETL processes to prepare data for ad hoc reporting.
- Power Automate: Experience with Power Automate for workflow automation and integration with Power Platform solutions.
- Effective Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate with business stakeholders, understand their requirements, and explain technical solutions in non-technical terms.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and with data analysts, business users, and IT professionals.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure data accuracy and the quality of application components.
