Job Overview
The Hungry Gardens is seeking a dedicated Microgreen Cilantro Cutter who brings not only precision and care to the delicate task of harvesting microgreens but also possesses Culinary Prep experience beneficial for a restaurant or kitchen setting. This unique role blends the art of farming with Culinary Preparation, offering an opportunity to directly impact the quality and presentation of culinary creations.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Expertise in the precise cutting and handling of microgreens, particularly cilantro, with an understanding of the best practices for maintaining their flavor and nutritional value.
- Culinary Prep Proficiency: Strong background in Culinary Prep work, including washing, chopping, and preparing ingredients for a variety of dishes.
- Kitchen Equipment Familiarity: Comfortable using a wide range of kitchen tools and equipment for prep work, with the ability to maintain and clean them according to food safety standards.
- Efficiency and Speed: Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure, ensuring that all produce is prepared and harvested within tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Detail-Oriented: Keen attention to detail for both the harvesting of microgreens and the preparation of ingredients, ensuring consistency and quality in every task.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication with both the farming and culinary teams to ensure seamless operation and integration of farm-fresh ingredients into the kitchen workflow.
- Food Safety Awareness: Knowledge of food safety practices, including the proper handling and storage of fresh produce to prevent contamination.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with edible flowers and their specific handling requirements.
- Possession of a Food Safety Certification.

Key Responsibilities
- Harvesting cilantro microgreens with precision and care, ensuring the highest quality and freshness.
- Preparing and processing harvested microgreens for immediate use in culinary applications.
- Managing the cleanliness and organization of the prep area, including the maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Maintaining records of harvest yields, prep inventory, and other relevant data to support efficient farm operations.
