Radiance Technologies, a rapidly growing employee-owned company, is searching for a talented Systems Architect to join the Microelectronic Technology Operation (MTO). MTO is focused on microelectronics security, and is involved in the development of anti-tamper / protective technologies, failure analysis, reverse engineering, full spectrum cyber operations, and cyber tool development and solutions. Additionally, MTO conducts vulnerability research to include hardware exploitation, side-channel attacks, fault-injection attacks, and reverse engineering. MTO is currently working on cutting-edge S&T programs for the Department of Defense, with aspirations to deploy these capabilities to the field.
The Systems Architect must be proficient in a wide range of activities:
- Conducting hands-on embedded SW / FW / ASIC / algorithm development and testing
- data collection & analysis
- conducting UVM verification of FPGA & ASIC designs
- contributing to MTO's technology development roadmaps
- keeping a pulse on broader industry trends, injecting awareness and seeding early exploratory techniques / approaches / algorithms / capabilities into the broader Operation at appropriate times
- conceptualizing solutions to open-ended problems, decomposing said solution into implementable requirements, and conveying design intent to a broader team
- assisting MTO in capturing both incremental and adjacent business through customer interactions, proposal development, and authoring enhanced whitepapers
- contributing to the establishment of capabilities and processes necessary to convert low TRL S&T developments into low to mid-volume production products
- other research and development tasks in the microelectronic security field

Work Location:
- Radiance HQ or on Redstone Arsenal as needed, with the mix varying over time based on project demands
- Up to 20% travel outside the Huntsville area
Required Qualifications:
- US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science or relevant technical field with 15 years of relevant work experience
- Advanced knowledge of microelectronics security
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and solve open-ended problems
- Ability to quickly pivot focus between the big picture and low-level details
- Proficiency in explaining complicated technical topics to both engineering teams and non-technical audiences
- Excel at communicating/coordinating with stakeholders and customers: oral, written, and formal presentations
- Experience with revision control systems like Mercurial(Hg), Git or SVN
- Proficiency with Verilog / VHDL / System Verilog coding
- strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or Ph.D. in a relevant field
- Active Top Security Clearance
- Experience in microelectronics or materials characterization fields
- Experience with Anti-Tamper and Protective Technologies
- Experience with Trusted and Assured Microelectronics
- Experience implementing microcode
- Hands-on verification utilizing Universal Verification Methodology (UVM)
- Experience leading multiple simultaneous technical projects or tasks
- Experience working with multiple Government agencies including AMRDEC, DARPA, AFRL, and NSA
- Experience with cryptographic algorithms and applications
- RTL simulation: Cadence-Xcelium, Synopsys-VCS, Mentor-Questa
- Real-time OS experience
- Ability and willingness to mentor other technical personnel
