Exciting opportunity to work in an equine laboratory! Day shift with weekend and holiday rotation, working in a positive and engaging environment.
Position Summary
Perform routine medical laboratory testing for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Verify questionable results or samples and repeat procedures as necessary. Responsible for the operation of all areas in the laboratory.
Skills/Responsibilities Required:
The primary role and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
▪ Microbiology and PCR position performing duties such as reading plates, organism identification and sensitivities, extracting DNA and cDNA.
▪ Perform laboratory analysis of specimens in microbiology using established protocol and quality control checks.
▪ Provide support to all areas within the laboratory including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and administrative functions.
▪ Report results as required adhering to established techniques and guidelines.
▪ Restock supplies and tools in all areas as needed daily.
▪ Maintain efficient and clean workspaces adhering to OSHA guidelines and laboratory policies.
▪ Perform daily quality control on automated equipment to assure high quality of performance.
▪ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
▪ MT/MLT, ASCP, or AMT certification required.
▪ Ability to lift more than 30 lbs.
▪ Effective communicator both verbally and in writing.
▪ Proper vision for accurate interpretation of kit tests, slides, and specimens via the microscope.
▪ Prior experience preferred, but not required.
Schedule: Full-Time including benefits, varying hours.
Weekend and holiday rotation required.
Full-Time position is eligible for full benefits package, but also open to a part-time schedule or individuals wanting to work PRN.
