Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Microbiology Scientist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in microbiological analysis, particularly in compliance with USP <61> Microbiological Examination of Nonsterile Products: Microbial Enumeration Tests and USP <62> Microbiological Examination of Nonsterile Products: Tests for Specified Microorganisms. This role involves conducting critical microbiological testing and analysis in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment to ensure the safety and efficacy of our client’s products.

Key Responsibilities:

• General duties include sterility testing (TAMC and TYMC testing), microbial limit testing, and microbial identification to support finished products, raw materials and medical cannabis in a non-sterile pharmaceutical laboratory.
• Conduct microbiological GMP testing and analysis in accordance with USP <61> and USP <62> standards.
• Develop and validate microbiological methods and procedures.
• Perform microbial enumeration tests and tests for specified microorganisms on nonsterile products.
• Perform routine cleaning maintenance and environmental monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and advancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and quality assurance processes.
• Document and report findings in a clear and concise manner, adhering to laboratory protocols and guidelines.
• Participate in the troubleshooting and resolution of microbiological issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in the microbiology laboratory.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a microbiology laboratory, preferably in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
• Thorough understanding of USP <61> and USP <62> guidelines and their application in a laboratory setting.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in microbiological techniques and instrumentation.
• Knowledge and experience using aseptic technique, autoclaves, gram staining.
• Overseeing and administering standard microbiology functions.
• Preparing fundamental functionals reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Salary: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
