Microbial Discovery Group (MDG) is an R&D driven microbial cultivation and fermentation company. MDG provides bioaugmentation products and solutions for a multitude of industries. MDG excels in new product innovation, client-driven manufacturing, and technical support expertise.
Position Summary:
This is an entry level Microbiologist position that does not require a bachelor’s degree. The employee will typically have no professional job experience. This job has minimal responsibilities and is guided by the Lab Coordinator and possibly a Mentor
Responsibilities:

• Perform routine lab and equipment maintenance, such as cleaning glassware, counter tops, and equipment.
• Assist with AM/PM plate reading.
• Assist with laboratory supply and inventory upkeep.
• Familiarize themselves with laboratory procedures and tasks.
• Handle and protect confidential and sensitive data with integrity.
• Ensure the lab is always stocked with media and clean equipment.
• Perform equipment verification checks per the schedule.
• Complete the lab housekeeping tasks per the schedule.

• Relevant coursework
• Problem solving abilities

Education, Training, Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in science or related field or equivalent professional experience

Physical Requirements:

• Sedentary work performed in an office setting including long periods of sitting and working at a computer. Reaching is necessary above shoulder height and below the waist.  Work will be performed in the office and lab.
