The Health Programs Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fitness and wellbeing related programs at OFC. The Program Manager works together with on-site staff to create and implement strategic plans for successful fitness training programs tailored to a pre-identified population. Through program design and implementation, the Health Programs Manager will support OFC’s values and mission. Areas of focus include: customer service, fitness and wellbeing programming, talent management, performance management, strategic thinking, leading and empowering others. The manager leads and facilitates the success of the fitness and wellbeing departments under the direction of the OFC Fitness Director.
Education
Required – High School Diploma
Preferred – Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology or related
Work Experience
Required – 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity
Preferred – 3 years of demonstrated program design and implementation
Certifications
Required – Current CPR/AED Certification from AHA or ARC required at time of hire
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of required job information.
- Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, keyboard, and various software programs specific to role (Microsoft Office, Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.
- Deductive reasoning skills to anticipate issues that adversely impact the function of the department and to solve problems.
- Supervisory skills and able to foster an environment of teamwork, professionalism, customer satisfaction, high performance and mutual respect of others.
- Thorough knowledge and application of fitness and Personal Training programming as well as an understanding of facility.
- Experience working well under pressure, meeting project deadlines, working independently, setting priorities, and maintaining complete confidentiality.
- Ability to inspire and motivate others.
Job Duties
- Manages and leads departments in all operational performance matters.
- Manages, trains, and develops supervisors for wellness related departments.
- Manages and utilizes all available financial performance management information to monitor and measure the performance of the departments as a team as well as the individual .performance of team members.
- Supervise development and implementation of strategic plans to increase revenue and retention with in wellness departments.
- Other related duties as required.
