Position Summary:
- Design, plan, and supervise
- Develop and implement improved ways to extract, process, and use raw materials
- Develop new materials that both improve the performance of products and take advantage of advances in technology
- Analyze the impact of the products they develop or the systems they design on the environment and on people using them
- Determine the causes of breakdowns
- Test manufactured products to maintain quality
- Estimate the time and cost to complete projects
Job Responsibilities:
- Designs and develops engineering projects with nominal direct supervision.
- Provides shop floor support and Kaizen improvements.
- Supports production manager, senior engineers and production associates.
- Provides direction to maintenance and Unit Technicians
- Manage moderate capital projects and providing capital forecasts
- Serve as active member of Manufacturing Engineering Team
- Facilitate kaizen and process improvement activities with the production and maintenance personnel
Education / Experience:
- 4-year technical degree (i.e., mechanical, manufacturing or related) required and 6-8 years of experience in engineering role in a manufacturing environment
OR
- High school diploma or equivalent with 15-20 years equivalent experience in engineering.
Other Required Skills:
- Demonstrated application of engineering skills and problem solving techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with applied experience working in a team environment.
- MS office, knowledge of poke yoke, kaizen, lean concepts
