Caterpillar Data Center Power Solutions, part of the Electric Power Division, currently has an opening for a Senior Design Engineer located in Griffin, Georgia.    In this role, you will collaborate with process partners to develop custom solutions for our datacenter clients.

What you will do:   

• Create project specific electrical design to meet customer requirements.
• Providing factory/operations support for build related issues.
• Providing customer and field support when required
• Responsible for data center backup power, custom solutions to meet customer, remote monitoring

Technical Excellence : Level Expert: Knowledge of Genset controls design and applications

·       Provides effective technical solutions to routine functional challenges via sound technical competence, effectively examining implications of events and issues. 

·       Effectively performs the technical job aspects, continuously building knowledge and keeping up-to-date on technical and procedural job components. 

·       Applies technical operating and project standards based on achieving excellence in delivered products, technologies and services. 

·       Applies current procedures and technologies to help resolve technical issues in one's general area of technical competence. 

·       Helps others solve technical or procedural problems or issues. 

Product Design and Development: Level Extensive Knowledge: Experience working with low-voltage or medium-voltage switchgear. PLC component selection. 

·       Communicates with professionals to understand various requirements of product design. 

·       Tests and evaluates alternative means of production being considered for use. 

·       Uses automated tools to design or modify the design of a product. 

·       Assists in building a complex prototype of product 

Top Candidates Will Also Have:  

·       Experience with UL508A control enclosure design

·       Genset applications experience

·       Extensive Knowledge of Creo or AutoCAD
