Methodist Healthcare Young Nurse Leader Program
Program Description:
This innovative program is designed to identify early interest in nursing leadership as a career pathway. This proof-of-concept opportunity for emerging leaders will provide students with 1:1 mentorship, didactic content and monthly small group engagement events. Through experiential learning, the Young Nurse Leader Program will aid students in developing their leadership vision and professional identity. Participants will be eligible to apply for a position as a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) within the first year of nursing. Exposure and experience will be gained through real-life application of leadership styles and concepts, leadership theories, professional identity, budget and finance, implementation science, healthy work environments, coaching for values, and innovative care delivery models.
Program Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing, graduating within 6 months
- Must be a current extern or intern at Methodist Healthcare System in either Med/Surg, Telemetry, ED, or open to transitioning
- Accept an RN Residency position with an MHS Med/Surg, Telemetry, ED unit
