Metal Additive Manufacturing Technician

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborates with engineering and design teams on design for Additive Manufacturing
• Prepares build files for 3D printing
• Operates selective laser sintering machines
• Posts processing of 3D printed components
• Monitors and troubleshoots processes and equipment
• Works with machine manufacturers to develop processes and parameters
• Maintains equipment
• Safely handles metal powders
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• 8-10 years of Additive Manufacturing Experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of Additive Manufacturing Principles
• Knowledge of Selective Laser Sintering Processes
• Experience Operating SLS Additive Manufacturing Systems
• Proficient in CAD Software, such as Solidworks
• Proficient in 3D Printing Software
• Knowledge of Materials and Properties
• Understanding of GD&T
• Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail

Essential Functions

Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements

• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
• Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
• Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 50 pounds regularly
• Must be able to position one-self to work in confined spaces
• Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs
• Must be able to operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and/or forklifts
• Ability to move safely over uneven terrain 10% of the time
• Operate standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.)
