Position Title:
Mergers and Acquisitions Consulting Internship - MBA, Summer 2023

Job Description:

A Mergers and Acquisitions Consulting Intern will be responsible for supporting our Corporate Development team in ongoing merger and acquisition efforts. In this role, the candidate will collaborate with all lines of business in identifying and executing on strategic acquisitions, equity investments, and joint ventures to help Elevance Health acquire assets, invest in companies, and obtain relationships to grow the revenue and profitability of the company.

How you will make an impact:
  • Identifying and analyzing strategic targets to assist in the development of strategic rationale for acquisitions and investments and how they fit into the corporate strategy.
  • Support and coordinate the due diligence process
  • Contribute to the development of financial rationale, including pro forma combination models, accretion/dilution analysis, views of transaction synergies and synergy achievement costs, and various analyses including discounted cash flows.
  • Analyze financial statements to develop clear and concise presentations for an executive audience
  • Contribute to the deal process by outlining investment opportunities, including strategic fit, financial return, risk, and profile, etc.
  • Perform evaluation analysis on financial model projections
  • Monitor, track, and research potential strategic investments through industry landscape analysis and company profiling
  • Support ad-hoc projects on an as needed basis


Minimum Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing an MBA at an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Strategy, Finance, or related major
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship. This is a 10-week, hybrid-work consulting internship taking place from June 5th, 2023-August 11th, 2023.


Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
  • Previous experience in Mergers and Acquisitions, Investment Banking Analysis, Corporate Development or Transaction Services is preferred, but not required
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent Problem-solving, Analytical, and Organizational skills
  • Excellent Public Speaking and Presentation skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products
