Job Title:Merchandising Analyst
Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 annually
Type: Exempt, Salaried
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico (On-Site, 1920 Columbia Drive SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106)
Position Objective
As a Merchandising Analyst at Schwazze, your role is pivotal in driving the success of our merchandising and procurement operations within the cannabis industry. You will be at the forefront of optimizing data processes and ensuring data integrity, playing a key role in shaping the future of our organization. Your primary responsibilities include price and cost management, competitive analysis, trend analysis, and new report development, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to guarantee the consistency and efficiency of data flows. This role not only lays the foundation for the merchandising team but also offers substantial opportunities for your professional growth and development within our dynamic and thriving company.
Major Functions
- Analyze and identify trends to inform and aid Merchandising business decisions through sales, inventory, current market and customer data.
- Develop and manage tools supporting business rhythm and measuring product performance.
- Organize, summarize and visualize data into meaningful insights that inform Merchandising plans and initiatives.
- Maintain files on competitive pricing and promotional analysis.
- Oversee item management and placement across stores and systems.
- Manage pricing and promotional changes, ensuring accuracy in all systems and digital assets.
- Monitor procurement item costs and delivery retails across systems and digital assets.
- Coordinate with Retail, Merchandising, and Accounting teams to ensure proper accounting and itemization throughout the product lifecycle.
- Implement, support, and monitor retail and procurement product cost and price exception reporting.
- Engage in ad-hoc duties and projects as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in an analytical setting.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Proficiency in Excel and all Microsoft applications.
A Plus, but Not Required
- Familiarity with data visualization tools, BI Tools, POS systems, and database querying.
- Knowledge of cannabis industry terminology and products.
- Problem-solving skills to synthesize complex information into critical insights.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn new skills and tools.
- Effective communication with all levels of management.
- Team player with the ability to balance team and individual responsibilities.
Working Conditions (Schedule, Environment, Travel)
- Schedule may vary depending on the needs of the business, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Minimal travel may be required.
