Reports to: Senior VP, Merchandise & Marketing Manager, Senior Buyers, Lead HBC/OTC Merchandiser

***Schedule: preferred availability with mostly be Monday through Friday daytime. Occasional travel to Madison, Brookings, and Huron will be required.
Summary
The HBC/OTC Merchandise Team Member works closely with the Lead HBC/OTC Merchandiser to ensure the important HBC and OTC areas in each store location are properly merchandised and stocked. The Merchandise Team Member with assist the Lead Merchandiser with training, teaching, and coaching Department Managers to maintain proper inventory levels by using best practices in daily department maintenance and ordering procedures. This person will also assist with teaching methods to ensure merchandise is best displayed according to planogram specifications, properly signed, and the area is pleasant to shop in.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the merchandising plan and directives from the corporate office team
- Build a strong relationship with all merchandising team members, store associates and category buyers to effectively and efficiently display merchandise at the store level
- Implement new planograms and maintain or update existing planograms
- Ensure shelf tags are current and in good condition
- Place the product on the shelves or pegs according to the planogram
- Make sure all shelves are clean, straight and pegs are even
- Use cross merchandising techniques and visual aids to enhance the appearance of planograms
- Maintain endcaps
- Create floor or special Lewis/vendor displays
- Make sure displays are signed properly
- Maintain easy shopping and access for all guests
Employee Role Expectations
- This position will require day time travel in a company vehicle to meet the needs of all Lewis Drug locations to ensure timely and consistent attention and resources are devoted to each store. Overnight travel will be required rarely.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with all levels of employees with professionalism as well as work independently when needed
- Must have high level of initiative and ability to follow instruction - whether verbal or written.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential, as specific timelines for travel and deadlines for work performed must be satisfied
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record required and must be maintained
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Google Drive
- Retail and/or merchandising experience preferred but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to constantly move about the sales floor or stand for long periods of time
- Work with full range of hands, wrists, and arms (i.e. ability to pick up and pinch small items with fingers, and seize, hold, grasp or turn objects with hands)
- Ability to lift up to 5 lbs. frequently, up to 20 lbs. often, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally with or without accommodation
- Ability to adjust or assemble sections of shelving and plan spatially for area resets (some planogram adjustments may need to be made)
- Must be able to frequently position self at varying shelf height levels to stock or merchandise product as required
- Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction
- Must have depth perception, color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), and field of vision
