Reports To: This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Your Mission Should You Choose to Accept:
You'll be the superhero of our merch operations, both in the digital world and at events (managed from HQ).
- Procures merchandise for sale at shows and through our online sales channels. Our Merchandise Manager will constantly be on the lookout for cool items that will appeal to our customers.
- Develop pricing strategies to maximize net profit performance.
- Ensures product quantities, costs, prices and other records are accurately maintained in our management system and coordinates regular inventory audits.
- Creates eye-catching and innovative displays to optimize sales performance at our pop-up stores.
- Maintains and develops key partnerships, including product suppliers and manufacturers.
- Manages and mentors our merchandise team, both at shows and headquarters.
- Measure and ensure consistent attainment of key performance goals.
- Maintains knowledge of trends and best practices related to product sales, pricing, merchandise procurement, and inventory management.
- Assist with special projects, as assigned, including audits, data clean-up and other initiatives.
- Travel to shows, as needed, to perform regular check-ins.
Experience Needed - What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- A knack for thriving in a fast-paced, high-energy team.
- Previous live entertainment, retail, restaurant, or hospitality industry experience is highly preferred. Bonus points if you've been in the LEGO buying and selling game.
- Customer service-oriented with the ability to interact with all levels of management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. We’re looking for someone that communicates as clearly as LEGO instructions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. The ability to juggle multiple projects without dropping the ball.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Technical smarts – you're the kind of person who just 'gets' gadgets and systems.
- A bit of Shopify know-how would be awesome.
- A can-do attitude that believes anything's possible with a bit of creativity.
- A good understanding of e-commerce nuts and bolts – think pricing, inventory management, and all that jazz.
