MEP Electrical Engineer / Designer

GPD is currently seeking an MEPElectrical Engineer/Designer for our Akron, Cleveland, and Columbus, OH office locations.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Electrical Engineer with 0-5 years of experience in the field of Retail/Commercial design with a focus on multi-site, retail or restaurant projects. Experience and design growth opportunities with Educational (PK-12 and Higher Ed.), Healthcare and Federal.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred, but not required.
- Professional Engineer is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in supporting engineers and architects in design and documentation for project work
- Background in Retail & Commercial building design.
- Power distribution design
- Interior/exterior lighting and controls design
- Generator system design
- MS office products and Bluebeam experience preferred.
- Must possess strong communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
- Skilled in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Some travel required for building surveys and construction administration.
- Valid Driver’s License is required.
Day-to-day job responsibilities:
- Technical problem-solving.
- Engineering design and documentation for building construction projects under the direction of a senior level engineer.
- Supporting projects with technical design and documentation using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Client relationship and maintenance.
- Communication and coordination with multi-disciplinary groups.
