Outpatient Substance Use Disorders

Hackley Community Care (HCC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center that provides compassionate, quality, integrated health services to the residents of Muskegon County. Under the direct supervision of the Mental Health Manager, the Mental Health Therapist / Counselor is responsible for providing counseling services to patients of HCC, as well as direct patient care in the areas of Mental Health and addiction. In addition, the Mental Health Therapist / Counselor will work alongside other clinical providers such as Physicians and Mid-levels.
Substance Use Disorder: the Therapist / Counselor will utilize clinical skills to treat Substance Use Disorders and provide Mental Health counseling and therapy, including the treatment, prevention and awareness of opioid abuse. The Therapist / Counselor will be responsible for accurate and timely documentation of pertinent case activities through electronic health record. Must be a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor for this position.

Job Qualifications:
- Graduated from an accredited social worker or professional counselor school program.
- Possess an active and in good standing master's level social worker or professional counselor license in the State of Michigan.
- Current certification to practice advanced alcohol and drug counseling (CAADC).
- Possess or willing to train for BLS/CPR certification.
- Experience in Mental Health therapy with ability to diagnose and treat.
- Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with patients, staff and other health care professionals.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to work with diverse groups and maintain confidentiality.
