Our Mental Health Technician responsibilities include some of the following:

• Care for our patients daily by obtaining vital signs, assessing their behavior, escorting them, and interacting with them continuously throughout the shift.
• Conduct direct observation rounds during assigned shift and document patient’s behavior.
• Model and teach appropriate life skills to the patients.
• Orient the patients to the unit and assist them with the discharge process.
• Assist them with verbal de-escalation when they are agitated.
• Provide a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.

Please apply if you have the following qualifications for a Mental Health Technician:

• Must have a High School Diploma with 1-year direct care experience with Mental Health patients or 1-year Corpsman experience.
• Or, have a bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Psychology with some experience with Mental Health patients
• Or be a Certified Nursing Assistant with previous experience working with Mental Health patients.
• Is Basic Life Support and Handle with Care certified or able to obtain both certifications during hospital orientation.

Must be willing to work 7a to 7p or 7p to 7a and willing to work rotating weekends.
