We are seeking an experienced Medical Biller with a strong background in Mental Health services billing to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in billing for outpatient therapy services, medication management, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and partial hospitalization programs (PHP). This role requires a deep understanding of the unique billing and coding challenges in the Mental Health field.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately process billing for outpatient therapy, medication management, IOP, and PHP services.
- Address and resolve billing inquiries and disputes from patients and insurance companies.
- Work closely with therapists and psychiatric providers to ensure accurate and timely billing.
- Stay up-to-date with current billing practices, coding, and reimbursement processes in psychiatric care.
- Prepare and analyze billing reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing, with a focus on Mental Health services billing.
- Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and billing software.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Knowledge of insurance guidelines, including Tricare, HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements and systems.
· Assist in getting clinicians paneled with various insurance providers, expanding the clinic's network and patient access.
· Engage in negotiations with insurance companies to secure favorable reimbursement rates, directly impacting the clinic's revenue and profitability. This directly impacts the compensation of the Medical Biller Specialist as compensation is contingent on a percentage of money received.
