Membership Manager (Bilingual) SSSC

This is a hybrid position based out of our offices in Southern Dallas.

  • Must be bilingual (English/Spanish), and have experience with public speaking and community engagement.
  • Experience with Salesforce. Microsoft Office, and volunteer management preferred.


JOB SUMMARY

The Membership Manager (Recruitment and Service Unit Engagement) is responsible for developing and executing effective sales strategies to increase awareness of and participation in Girl Scouting through use of a marketing sales campaign(s), generating leads to meet sales goals by converting prospects/securing new adult volunteers, new girl members, and community partnerships thus increasing overall Girl Scout troop membership growth.


In an established geographic area, this person is responsible for developing, evolving, and managing the execution of all sales support functions. The Membership Manager is responsible for working cross-functionally and collaboratively to ensure all activities required for membership are completed and that membership conversion goals are reached.


This person is also responsible for maintaining customer focus in order to provide excellent service to volunteers, parents and girls through the development of local administrative volunteers. This role executes strategic retention initiatives and works in partnership with staff and volunteers to achieve results. He/she builds relationships with volunteers to empower, equip and support them to reach more girls in more ways with greater impact.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list may not include all of the duties assigned)

  • Directly responsible for meeting individual sales quotas in designated geographic areas and for increasing new GSNETX membership sales.
  • In designated service area, adapt membership trends, market share data, demographic information, etc. to campaign tactics to achieve or exceed membership goals.
  • Identify and develop relationships with appropriate community leaders, organizations, schools, religious/educational institutions, businesses and volunteers to share the Girl Scout story and enlist advocates to increase membership.
  • Implement and manage the processes that ensure the effective and seamless completion of the Recruitment sales process and is responsible for the team member that handles all sales support activities, including but not limited to:
    • Formal formation of troops due to not enough girls or insufficient leadership;
    • Ensuring closure to payment, completion of background check and welcome; activities;
    • Smooth transition of ownership of new Girl Scout leader/troop to Retention.
    • Consistent updates and maintenance of data including data cleanup.
  • Recognize and assess the needs of each Service Unit to determine strengths and weaknesses which will allow the opportunity to target support and guidance.
  • Manage Service Unit teams by identifying, selecting, appointing, and supervising key SU team roles in order to carry out GSNETX's goals and objectives and ensure compliance with volunteer agreements and policies.
  • Equip volunteers to effectively resolve and potentially escalate conflicts and adhere to GSNETX Volunteer Policies & Procedures.
  • Provide project management and planning support to Service Unit volunteers. Engage, train, equip and manage service unit volunteers to promote and deliver activities to support membership growth and volunteer retention.
  • Proactively and consistently communicate with SU team to ensure they are supporting their local community of Girl Scouts. Act as first point of contact for inquiries from SU-level volunteers; serve as liaison between these volunteers and GSNETX. Respond in a prompt and efficient manner to incoming requests, leveraging customer relationship management system (CRM) for communication tracking. Provide superb internal and external customer support to meet or exceed GSNETX organizational goals.
  • Ensure Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scout message of pluralism and diversity to prospective members of the council.
  • Communicate effectively with all different audiences, including girls, parents, volunteers, and GSNETX team members.
  • Collaborate with supervisor to prioritize and determine responsibilities in order to make the highest impact.


OTHER

  • Must be able to travel within established geographic areas and council service centers, as necessary.
  • Must have reliable transportation, hold a valid drivers’ license and meet GSNETX driving record & automobile insurance requirements.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS—Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA’s)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing/Sales or related field, strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish)/bicultural.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum 2-4 years sales, marketing and/or recruiting, applicable customer service management and project management experience, or equivalent combination of education and practical work experience.
  • Experience with a volunteer workforce or membership organization is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently within the framework of the council’s plan of work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrate and promote a climate of courtesy, respect and professionalism to coworkers, the volunteers served by this council, and others with whom this job puts them in contact.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

  • Must complete and pass a criminal background check.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
