SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Branch Manager, a Member Specialist performs a variety of duties necessary to provide efficient service to members and effective branch operation in conformance with the established Credit Union policies, strategies procedures, and objectives to ensure quality member services.
This is a full-time position. Currently evening and Saturday hours are required. Branch location TBD.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for Teller station and accuracy of transactions
- Maintain and secure custody of cash drawer
- Cash checks - follow check cashing policies and procedures for withdrawing funds
- Process deposits and withdrawals for members in person or by mail
- Process mortgage and loan payments
- Issue bank checks and money orders as needed
- Process cash advance transactions as needed
- Answer routine member inquiries
- Process Stop Payments
- Print out statements if requested
- Maintain a neat and orderly workstations
- Responsible for member account confidentiality and privacy
- Accurately and promptly settle drawer at end of day
- Ability to cross sell products and services
- Open new accounts for members
- Answer member phone calls and provide follow up as necessary
- Assist in training of new staff.
- Other duties as may be required

- Understands products and services, interest rates, stop payments, lost passbooks, check ordering, direct deposit, cards, file maintenance and account opening procedures.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; environment may be fast-paced with extensive member contact via face-to-face. This position includes evenings and Saturdays.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk. Use of general office equipment required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds (cash drawer, coin bags, supplies, etc.).
