JOB STATUS: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO:Member Solutions Supervisor

SUPERVISES: None


PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Performs a variety of duties relating to specific collection and quality control activities.


SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week Monday through Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM. Position eligible for Hybrid Work Arrangement upon completion of in-office training period.  


DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for initiating action on specific delinquent accounts in order to arrive at suitable payment arrangements.

2. Assist with the repossession of collateral, securing delinquent loans and directing the disposition of repossessed property as provided by law.

3. Assist with the death notification process

4. Responsible for collection of NSF checks or difficult calls.

5. Recommend accounts for legal action or charge-off via:

         a. Bankruptcy Court

         b. Small Claims Court

         c. Criminal Court

6. Review and mail out delinquent notices on a weekly basis.

7. Monitor Visa reports daily and Visa reissues monthly.

8. Provide routine information to members with respect to Credit Union policies and products.

9. Keep informed of current changes and trends in debt collection legislation.

10. Service Fannie Mae mortgages according to specified guidelines for delinquent loans.

11. Stay current on job-related equipment, procedures and/or information by reading handouts/memos, attending meetings and seminars and other necessary means.

12. Adhere to all applicable Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulations.

13. Maintain community involvement and participate in special projects, as needed.

14. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Requirements

Education: High school diploma required

Experience: 1-3 years of experience in the collection area of a credit union, financial institution or finance company

Skills: Analytical ability; ability to exercise good judgment, detail oriented, and ability to resolve problems

Traits: Capacity to work well with others, dependability, flexibility, initiative, resourcefulness, confidentiality, professionalism
