The Member Services Specialist exceeds expectations by providing quality customer service for COF members, producers and internal stakeholders. The team member will be introduced and trained in all areas of Agent Care/Member Services followed by an evaluation and assignment of responsibilities within the department best suited for the team member and current business needs. Team responsibilities undergo periodic review and adjustment to ensure efficient, effective and consistent delivery of an excellent customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Interact daily via phone and email with the membership, external field force and internal team members (i.e. our customers).
- Respond to member questions, problems, and complaints promptly and with courtesy; striving to achieve resolution within the irst contact.
- Research and process requests such as policy changes, deposits, payments, withdrawals, transfers, loans, lapses, surrenders, conservation, taxation, values, statements and billing inquiries, claims, new applications, maturing contracts, beneficiaries, ownership, assignment, and more, across all lines of business ensuring proper regulatory and compliance requirements are met.
- Provide support to the Agent Care/Member Services leadership team.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as required.
- Ability to work additional hours as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Can perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature.
- Excellent organizational skills; can maintain high quality of work and attention to detail.
- Must be comfortable and able to work in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating workload; can handle prioritizing assignments and manage distractions in order to meet deadlines.
- Has a flexible approach to change, constantly seeks improvements and is forward looking.
- Demonstrates a reliable, responsive, and positive work ethic with the highest degree of integrity.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree; or a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Customer service experience in insurance, finance, or a related business field preferred.
- Call center experience ideal.
