SUMMARY

This position assists with the customer services experience at the Angleton Recreation Center, supervising and training part-time staff, and day-to-day management of facility operations. In addition, this position supports front desk responsibilities including cash handling for all sales, membership management, rules and policy enforcement, and working knowledge of current and upcoming events or programs.

This position serves as the morning supervisor with a regular schedule Monday through Friday from 4:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with some evenings and/or weekends as needed.

This position serves as the morning supervisor with a regular schedule Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with some early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works independently under the direction of the Facility Operations Superintendent.
  • Monitor, track, schedule, and manage all rentals for Angleton Parks and Recreation including coordination with customers, rental agreements, payment processing, and refunds.
  • Consistently provides excellent customer service.
  • Assist in onboarding and staff training for part-time front desk staff including regular meetings with staff, staff development, and coaching.
  • Provide knowledgeable information to citizens regarding recreation programs, activities, trips, membership fees, rental information, facility rules, and proper facility use.
  • Provide a direct line of continuous communication with recreation supervisory staff and the front desk to ensure accurate information is consistently available.

  • Register customers for classes, memberships, evaluate class enrollments, and notify patrons of activity schedules and registration requirements, and confirm/cancel classes as needed.
  • Assists in general facility maintenance for the Recreation Center including equipment, supplies, and operations to ensure a safe, clean facility.
  • Monitor access to the Angleton Recreation Center by ensuring memberships are current and others are paying for day use and signing in before granting admission to the facility.
  • Monitor equipment to be used by participants keep track of equipment inventory, and report equipment needs to the supervisor.
  • Assist in monitoring daily deposits to submit to Finance. Ensure accurate reporting and communicate any irregularities promptly.
  • Recognize and respond effectively to incidents and emergencies. Provide proper emergency care (first aid/CPR/AED) when necessary.
  • Regular and timely attendance at work.
  • Expected to perform other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING (Certification/Licensure)

The preferred way to obtain the minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position are listed below. The city reserves the right to allow substitutions if a candidate or incumbent exceeds requirements in one area but may be deficient in another.

 

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required,
  • Minimum three (3) years customer service and cash handling experience.
  • Applicants with significant relevant experience and training may be considered.

Special License, Certifications and Designations

  • Applicant must have a valid Texas Driver's License in good standing.
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR, or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
