Genesis Employee Credit Union is located in Zanesville, Ohio.
Overview of Position:
Performs a wide range of Credit Union duties including providing assistance to members and overseeing Credit Union functions while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Responsible for various areas of the Credit Union that may include, but are not limited to, teller transactions, loan processing, new account opening and answering telephone calls.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Greet and welcome members and visitors to the credit union in a professional manner. Represent the credit union in a courteous and professional manner and provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service to members and external customers in-person, by-telephone, and/or by mail.
2. Promote credit union products and services based on member needs as determined from member conversations while supporting department scorecard goals.
3. Maintain current knowledge of all credit union services, products, and policies while keeping the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
4. Counsel members on interest rates and cross-sell services offered at the credit union.
5. Oversees a variety of projects assigned by the manager or director.
6. Receives checks and cash for deposit to savings and checking accounts, verifies deposit amounts, examines checks for endorsement and negotiability, and records all transactions correctly.
7. Cashes checks and pays money from savings and checking accounts upon verification of signatures and customer account balances. Inspects all checks, money orders, savings withdrawals, and so forth to determine their negotiability.
8. Receive, sort, and process mail transactions as necessary.
9. Performs loan interviews, processes loan closing documents and closes loans with members.
10. Opens new share accounts and certificates, which includes; ordering checks, verifying eligibility, checking for appropriate signatures, filing cards, mailing welcome letters, etc., Type, laminate, and deliver membership cards, and assist members with ATM and Debit Card orders, reissues, cancellations, PIN resets.
11. Process skip-a-pay payments.
12. Assist members with wire transfers, skip-a-pay payments and requests, payroll deduction forms, account closures, etc.
13. Assist Operation Manager with discrepancies and complaints. Make corrections and refunds on accounts if necessary and as permitted.
14. Check accuracy of deposit and loan applications/documentation. Ensure each account is properly documented, closed, disbursed, coordinated, and filed as necessary. Notify loan officer or account opener of any discrepancies.
15. Review delinquency notices for accuracy and mail them as appropriate.
16. Performs other functions as assigned.
The following job duties may be assigned to a Member Service Representative as needed by the Credit Union Manager:
17. Works with manager to research and develop creative marketing strategies to build credit union membership (as assigned by manager)
18. Prepares various marketing documents and brochure mock-ups for Genesis employees, and other local businesses (as assigned by manager)
19. Works with Genesis department leadership to find available times to attend department meetings or other opportunities to have direct contact with employees. (as assigned by manager)
20. Effectively uses sales skills to communicate benefits of credit union membership to potential new individual and business customers. (as assigned by manager)
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School diploma or GED required
2. Minimum one year of experience in related field.
3. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
4. Good interpersonal and communications skills.
5. Good organizational skills.
6. Familiar with a PC and computer software and other various office equipment such fax, copier, and calculator.
