The Member Account Consultant will provide exceptional customer service to current and potential members, with a focus on identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities. They will open accounts, cross-sell products and services, and update the sales management tool. The Consultant will attend events, develop relationships with local businesses, and make outbound calls to attract and retain new members. They will respond to member needs promptly, and actively pursue new sales opportunities. Is responsible for maintaining compliance with all required regulations and policies, especially with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies, procedures and regulations.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Assist with opening accounts for new members and assist with closing accounts as needed. Cross-sell products and services to existing members, identify new sales opportunities, and attain referrals. Update the sales management tool system with accurate and timely information. Assists members with the loan application process utilizing the loan origination system. Reach out to existing members via outbound calls to promote applicable products. Continuously expand knowledge base on product knowledge and industry to become a subject matter expert at recommending solutions.
- Assist members with service request to identify problems and resolving them within their authority levels. Additionally, review the accounts of current members and inform them of new opportunities and products to improve and enhance their credit union experience.
- Receives and processes financial transactions, including, but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments. Assist branch staff with opening and closing and procedures that require dual control.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Desired candidate will
- be available to work Saturdays, as scheduled
- have a high school diploma or GED
- have a satisfactory credit history
- have basic knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
- have good communication skills
- provide prompt, accurate, courteous, friendly, timely and professional service to all members and ECCU employees
- consistently meet or exceed individual and team activity and performance goals with at least 90% of goal attained
- maintain and demonstrate a working knowledge of credit union deposit & loan standards, policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal government rules and regulations
- maintain compliance/alignment with company culture, internal and external service standards
- maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and work environment.
- maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness
- prior cash handling experience is a plus
