Electrical Distribution Estimator / Project Manager

Established 20-year-old company looking to grow with your help! Seeking an experienced professional with Medium Voltage estimating and project management experience.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years estimating and/or project manager experience with industrial projects
  • Licensed Journeyman Lineman a plus
  • Demonstrated abilities with McCormick estimating software. On-screen take off, Blue Beam, and Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong Communication, analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written skills
  • Team Player

Estimator Primary Functions:

  • Interpret bid documents (drawings, technical specifications, front end documents, etc. to determine scope of work and contents of estimate.
  • Prepare project proposals and submit to customers
  • Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, online pricing etc.
  • May review design options and recommend best solution based on
    cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
  • Write Requests for Information.
  • Prepare budgets
  • Negotiate extra work quotations with Customers.

Project Manager Primary Functions:

The project manager is responsible for the financial organization and tracking of electrical projects and implementing measures to increase the company's effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Preparation and buyout of purchase orders.
  • Prepare and enforce project strategy document.
  • Prepare and review submittals and shop drawings.
  • Prepare project budget and schedule of values.
  • Review files according to policies and procedures.
  • Review contract drawings and address RFIs.


FINANCIAL

  • Manage daily affairs to stay within budget and on schedule.
  • Project buyout and obtain quotes in a timely manner, including control takeoff of quotable items.
  • Price and settle change orders accurately.
  • Prepare billing with project team.


PROJECT ORGANIZATION AND TRACKING

  • Distribute and maintain current drawings, specifications, and product data with changes and clarifications.
  • Work closely with Project Coordinator to:
  1. Maintain master list with materials, submittals, RFI, & to-do list.
  2. Responsible for getting materials released to jobsite.
  3. Ensure weekly updates for material tracking.
  4. Adhere to the contract documents.
  5. Project documentation - (i.e. delays, back charges, claims).
